When we were planning this trip, we figured we would have to see the DMZ. It's a part of world history, "a relic of the cold war" as the tour books call it, and a place in South Korea that is unlike any other in the world. When we mentioned to Michelle that we might like to visit this area, she was a bit surprised, but after mentioning it to her Dad she came back to tell us that he wanted to plan this part of the trip and join us. We're so glad he did!
We got up early to hop onto a beautiful, chartered bus. Michelle's parents brought us a delicious breakfast of sushi, rolls, fruit, juice, and coffee. We enjoyed these treats as we relaxed on our long drive across the country to the east coast. Eventually we made it to the Goseong Unification Observatory.

The view of the DMZ - on clear days I understand you can see some mountains in North Korea from here. I'm not sure whether or not I was able to capture any myself.
